History

Consorzio ecoR'it - Collective scheme for the management of WEEE from household units and professional users – was founded on 16 December 2005 in Milan.

Consorzio ecoR'it is the development of ecoR'it - Pilot Project, an experiment in the field of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), which was wanted and then created during 2005 by a qualified group Information Technology companies.

The Pilot Project’s numbers:

  • €194,000: the total of the incurred costs (Pilot Project management and WEEE treatment)
  • 247: the company delegates on the work groups
  • 168,80: the tons of household and professional WEEE collected and treated
  • 114: the hours spent by the work groups
  • 40: the documents drafted in Italian and English
  • 28: the meetings of the management bodies
  • 20: the members who took part in ecoR'it – Pilot Project
  • 11: the Provinces chosen for the experiment
  • 8: the months of collection work
  • 2: collection sectors (B2B and B2C)
  • 1: the terms of duties and performance which has governed the relations with suppliers

The Pilot Project, created in compliance with the measures of the Ronchi decree, enabled the EEE "producers" promoting the Pilot Project to acquire, in advance of the WEEE Decree (d.lgs. 151/2005) coming into operational effect, the know-how needed for the organization and financing of the transport and treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
